I first picked up this book because I thought an accidental abduction would be a hilarious plot for a novel As it turns out, this book has going for it than simply good humor It s far heavier science fiction than I originally suspected, and because of this I was pleasantly surprised.Yes, this is first and foremost a romance novel Genesis is a wonderful, powerful female lead which many people know I look for in ever novel I ve ever read It s important to host non stereotypical female characters in a story, as you re making an imprint on those who read your work.Abduction does this.I didn t feel I ve read characters or a story line like this before and the technology makes this novel stand out from a science fiction point of view I could tell the author put a lot of work into making this an authentic, entertaining piece of work and I appreciate that. This story is for science fiction, action, suspense, and romance readers I give it 4.0 for originality, entertainment, and a distinct beginning, middle, and end.Book Review Blog www.goodbookswithtea.blogspot.com Many people have claimed to be abducted by aliens and remember what they look like Aliens are rarely described as looking human When Adam Davis sees strange lights above his cabin he can only assume that a plane has crashed Much to his surprisea woman appears and has a odd looking weapon pointing at him.Adam is a lonely person with no family still living and has only one true friend When the beautiful woman calls him Drak and forces him inside her ship called The Gaurdian Adam is stunned when another stranger emerges from the dark This person lookes eerily like Adam which causes some confusion The look alike uses the odd weapon on the woman and locks them both into a cell The ship leaves the ground and Adam knows he has been abducted.Genesis is very determined to find the man responsible for her missing parents Drak is the only person who knows where they are and she will stop at nothing to get it out of him She was tracking his ship when it crashed into a strange planet Standing right in front of her is that vile man, she is releived when she places restraints on his wrists and refuses to listen to his lies that he is the wrong man When she wakes up and find that her ship is moving and she is locked in the cell with the man who took her parents, she lurched at him Drak is space scum who kidnappes people and sells them to be labor slaves, sex slaves, and domestic slaves He has made a lot of enemy s throught the years and shows no remorse for it Even his crew works for him not out of loyalty but for blackmail in their past He caught a break when a man looks like him is mistaken for him He locks both of them into a cell and will deal with it when he gets back to his compound.Adam convinces Genesis that he is an earthling with the hair on him body, something the aliens only have on their heads He swears that he will help her retake her ship in return for taking him home Drak comes into the room and removes Adam He needs Adam to fly the ship while he sleeps He lets him know2 that he is a light sleeper and he will kill them both It takes 3 days to get to his compound. When his crew sees Adam they are confused Drak brushes off their questions by simply saying that Adam is his son Adam is stunned His father died in a car crash with his mother, there was no way that this man is his father.Adam is now being made to learn how to fly a ship making him jump ahead of men who have worked their way up Genesis is sent into a room with other women who are just as frightened as she. After the great escape, Adam thinks that he is home free when he meets the I.S.P Interplanetary Space Police Genesis reveals that she is a bounty hunter working with the I.S.P for the apprehension of Drake Now that he is behind bars they start searching for her father A few of Drak s men agree to help out the space cops as an atonement for their crimes With their help some important information that is revealed gives a list of slaves and where they were delivered too.Genesis and Adam are falling in love and know that there is no way they their love will last They both fight side by side to search for her father while trying to fight their hearts This planet is teeming with massive creatures that no one has ever seen before, except Adam Now he must convince these people that he knows what they are in hopes to save their life. What a ride that this story takes you on Creative names of plantes, moons, creatures, aliens, weapons and food Some of their ways sound so much better than our way, except for the food I mean who wants to eat carbohydrate paste, blehhh. The major characters are complex people that have struggles with moral as well as duty The story is easy to read and understand, even with the foreign names I am anxious for the next book to continue on this adventure I was given this book to review from the author publisher through Reading Alley and in exchange I give my unbiased opinion. I received this book from Goodreads.I am going to hang from the gallows for thisI did not finish The Abduction I hate not finishing a book but sometimes it is unavoidable.I made it to page 120 If anyone has already read this book then you ll know that Genesis, who works for I.S.P, decides to drink from an open beverage some sleazy human trafficker gives her while under his captivity.Seriously This trained bounty hunter accepts food and drink from a known sleazeball I saw it coming I told myself that if Genesis was dumb enough to actually fall for it that I was done with this book She was, and here I am with an unfinished book.My problem is the whole book is like that I m not one of those crazy feminists that pee on the subway for women s rights, but there is only so much I can take All Genesis does in cry, screw up, and wait to be saved She doesn t even scowl It is noted throughout the book that when Genesis gets mad she pouts Pouts Her only negative facial expression is a toddler s tantrum face. And lets not forget that she is older than the earth man but completely naive about sex and arousal She has no clue what those strange sensations she feeling when around him Uh huh Suurrre.Plus, Adam is the only good guy There are a bunch of other male characters but Adam is the only one who isn t a rapist, pedophile, murdereryou get the idea This irritated me.I could probably have ignored all of those things if it wasn t for the insulting fact of I.S.P Interplanetary Space Patrol Genesis works for them It isn t a stretch to assume she was trained for the job Assuming she s trainedwhy the hell can t she do anythingA untrained earth man can beat her in hand to hand combat, absolutely anyone can knock her stun thingy away from her and she can communicate telepathically but doesn t utilize it.Nope I am done with it.This book rubbed me the wrong way.Not my cup of tea, I guess. The Abduction, by Ester Lopez, is a love story wrapped up in a space based sci fi package The protagonist, Adam, finds himself abducted from Earth and on a space ship where he is thrown into a complex story involving interplanetary slave trade and the efforts by the interplanetary space patrol to capture the ring leader who happens to be the person who just abducted Adam The chief chaser for the ISP is Genesis, a beautiful but strong and resourceful bounty hunter When she and Adam are thrown together literally the sparks fly But Genesis is from a culture very different from Earth, and Adam wants than anything to return to his home, so do Adam and Genesis have a future together Does Adam want one This is the central story the star crossed romance between Adam and Genesis Along the way, Ms Lopez spins out a sci fi yarn that includes some interesting secondary characters and a plot that both keeps you interested and moves the story along nicely It is not a long book but there is plenty of plot and in the end what keeps you reading is the question of what will happen to Adam and Genesis I enjoyed the read, even though Romance is not generally my genre Hard core sci fi fans may find that The Abduction contains too much Romance, and Romance fans might find that the story is too much sci fi, but as an interesting mixing of genres, this was an enjoyable read. SPOILER ALERT The Abduction was my Introduction to Lopez s writing.I really appreciatd the work the author put into the worldbuilding and character development in this book.Q Will Adam and Gen capture Dram and break up his slave trading business Q Will they rescue Gen s father Q Will they realize their true feelings towards each other Get this book and find out.I can hardly wait to read volume two of this series. In the interest of transparency I was given a free review copy of this book and I am voluntarily sharing this review It is my own honest opinion. I received a copy of this book from Netglley for a fair and honest review. When I read the synopsis for this book it appealed to me for its sci fi romantic elements It seemed to be a different twist on a plot line that in the past I enjoyed reading So there was no second guessing that I was curious about how the story was going to play out.So why only two stars Well I want to start by say that this author did a great job on writing how the scenes played out They weren t rushed and gave you some insight into the characters themselves Also, from what I did read, there wasn t any blaring typos or grammatical errors that distracted from the story that s always a plus for me The problem was, I just couldn t get invested in this story I tried but I failed several times The main reason for that were the constant breaks in the story from scene changes and POV switches In the first chapter alone there were 8 breaks pauses in the story, occurring every 1 1 2 to 3 pages It was a major distraction and pulled me out of the story.Overall, I can t say that the story was horrible or that it wasn t really good I don t know because I couldn t finish it What I can say is that I believe that my review shouldn t be an overall factor in anyone s decision to read this In fact, I believe this writer has a lot of potential and I encourage her to Keep Being Inspired and to keep on Writing. Hold on Genesis, you want to do what Interesting Idea for a storyline and one that many wishes would happen to them, mostly young boys of a certain age anyway This is one of those narratives that you begin in all innocence hoping for an adventure to wile the time away But somewhere along the way., you begin to understand that your little escape from reality could become that you expected Shortly into the book you start finding little snippets of excessive detail, which slowly forms into a steady flow of very descriptive romantic, racy thoughts and meandering in lucid detail of what the main characters hope to achieve, if and when, they get together, and it has nothing to do with bettering humankind So, if you want this sort of romantic fervour then read on, but for those who would rather have a glorious exploration of space and time, meeting new Civilizations, then, I would go elsewhere as the storyline lacks the lust er that an escape into an alternate reality can provide Saying that, the writer was lucid, clear and concise, very engaging with lots of detail and had a very descriptive way of writing, So please do read the books if it is your style It s just not for me, sorry A review copy was provided by Reading Alley books in exchange for an honest review. Although I m way past the age group of readers known as New Adult, I enjoyed this book I m not sure it s officially classified NA, but that is the impression I got and not just because the hero and heroine are young I watch a few TV series on The CW television network, the programming of which is aimed at young and new adults This story could easily be the basis for a series on that channel.Adam Davis lives alone his parents were killed in an accident in a cabin in the woods One stormy night he sees what he thinks is a plane crash into the woods near his home When he gets to the crash site, he sees it s no plane, but a spacecraft Before he can go for help, a brunette dressed unlike any Earth woman he s seen takes him captive She keeps calling him by another name and won t listen when he tells her who he is She takes him to her spaceship, which was pursuing the one that crashed It s a case of mistaken identity, and it s not long before the real man she was pursuing takes them both captive. From there the hero and heroine fly off into space on some fantastic adventures, and of course, find themselves falling for one another I d recommend The Abduction to anyone who enjoys the shows on The CW, or other NA novels that take place in a science fiction setting. Freshman book for Ms Lopez starts out clean, focused and engaging Adam Davis rushes to a crash site near his home in the woods What looked like a plane is actually a space ship Freaked out, he tries to get away only to stumble across a woman He tries to warn her and drag her away from possible crazy aliens Too bad she is one of the aliens and came in a second ship Genesis may finally realize her goal for the past ten years Dram, an intergalactic criminal trafficking in slaves is within her sights She is not about to let him go Too bad it is a case of mistaken identities. For those who liked Guardians of the Galaxy, this contains similar concept but not campy or funny Adam, our Starlord character is kidnapped from Earth and ends up working for the bad guys In the process of traveling around the galaxy, he learns about his past His entire history is re written and it blows his mind. This space opera features a love story transcending species and culture It seems the lack in communication between tentative lovers apprehensive about revealing their feelings is universal Just as jealousy rears its ugly head when competition appears to steal the girl away Personally, the interaction between Adam and Genesis did nothing for me I didn t feel the chemistry Both are rather young and perhaps my jaded viewpoint of life colours my perspective This story felt like a new adult book with two young lovers fighting their attraction whilst going on a rescue mission The world building is a bit weaker than some I ve read and better than others The framework is good and builds a nice foundation for possible follow up books My assumption is for at least one book because Genesis s original goal still has yet to be obtained Overall, a nice read with good action and a bit of sexy time Recommended for romance readers who enjoy alien abduction turning into love themesReview copy provided via Reading Alley in exchange for an honest review. ^READ E-PUB ✒ The Abduction (The Vaedra Chronicles, #1) ↭ Popular Book, The Abduction The Vaedra Chronicles, 1 Author Ester Lopez This Is Very Good And Becomes The Main Topic To Read, The Readers Are Very Takjup And Always Take Inspiration From The Contents Of The Book The Abduction The Vaedra Chronicles, 1 , Essay By Ester Lopez Is Now On Our Website And You Can Download It By Register What Are You Waiting For Please Read And Make A Refission For You
